Check this out picked it up today,A 1983 NOS Fender P bass special, never left the store until today everything in the case is Nos not a scratch....absolutly gorgeous.I had to have another one.I just took the hang tag off the tuner.
Pics look funky after shrinking them this one IS MINT...And yes the hardware is gold and the headstock painted cream too.

I have the candy apple version of this bass. Can't stand the sound though. The active (Fenders first try at it BTW) electronics aren't much to write home about, but they are beautiful looking basses with the painted headstock. I always wondered what these things were going for these days. Did you have to pay a lot?

Ken, that's my favorite Fender model, and the Arctic White finish (no it's not Olympic White...) is amazing, almost all P-Specials were LPB or CAR. I had a LPB that turned almost turquoise (yellowed clearcoat) with the relatively rare rosewood board.

These basses have a great active circuit, without sounding too "processed". Last year I bought off eBay a NOS P-Special PCB, including pots and wires and the switch and jack, which I'm going to install in a LIGHTWEIGHT

70's P-bass, and have the best of both worlds.

Ilan thats gorgeous I love the lake placid blue,I had a candy red one back in the 80s I always wanted another ,its my favorite Fender too.I was telling someone not too long ago you can get any sound you want from one of these.
