Dave may well be right.

I have seen that in the UK, the promised big $$$ sales doesn't usually happen. With no exchange rate to work with (more against in this case with GBP!) people are nearly always looking for bargains there and it is a tough market to get maximum $$$...IMO.

And...as it has been stated before, it is a bass with limited appeal. It always has been, hence no chance of a reissue.

The winner may well come from this forum as this is where the largest group of people who want this bass are.

Saying that, the 68 I played had a wonderful neck profile and a real nice warm tone. It was wearing rounds and sounded quite versatile.
They are not for everyone, but if you want an hollow bodied bass you should get a 4005, and if you want a 4005, you should get this one...

I have Chromes on mine now primarily to not wear the frets down any further, but I used to always use XLs which sounded awesome.

hmmm, think I'll stick with my EB2s for that acoustic sound then - not that I ever find a place for it these days. nice bass though, that 4005.

I was thinking of bidding - but I just don't feel too good about bidding against newly registered, zero feedbackers. Didn't that happen on the first auction? Where are those guys now? Sorry for being so suspicious.

I think if Kelly's really serious about selling this, he needs to cancel those zero feedback bids? It's going to put off serious bidders. Sorry Kelly.

I agree Graham. It's kinda ironic. I think when he first listed the bass, the minimum bid was 3500 pounds, right where the bid stands today.

If he's concerned about getting paid and/or the bids are legit, he should clean it up.

I doubt that bidder is for real. Funny, I would have paid $7500 for it originally, but it wasn't good enough for him. Sometimes money is lost by indecision rather than the wrong decision.

4th time lucky then? I think from the last 3 attempts to sell it, the current value is somewhere around £3,500. All Kelly needs to do now is accept that, when he re-lists. Each re-listing is just devaluing a great bass, IMHO. Good luck Kelly.
