Dave may well be right.
I have seen that in the UK, the promised big $$$ sales doesn't usually happen. With no exchange rate to work with (more against in this case with GBP!) people are nearly always looking for bargains there and it is a tough market to get maximum $$$...IMO.
And...as it has been stated before, it is a bass with limited appeal. It always has been, hence no chance of a reissue.
The winner may well come from this forum as this is where the largest group of people who want this bass are.
Saying that, the 68 I played had a wonderful neck profile and a real nice warm tone. It was wearing rounds and sounded quite versatile.
They are not for everyone, but if you want an hollow bodied bass you should get a 4005, and if you want a 4005, you should get this one...

Uhmm...
Here's a quote from Kelly posting on the Ric forum regarding the sale on ebay:
"£4251 and I've been stiffed (high bidder says he/she won't pay and now won't answer my e-mails) As my wife says maybe I'm just supposed to keep it. Pretty frustrating to say the least.."
"Got one e-mail saying they won't pay, then no answers to my e-mails after that. Probably gonna re-list. This time no zero feedbackers allowed."
