Hmmm... I've got to show those pics to my wife. Her favorite color is any nice shade of green and turqoise definitely qualifies. Like the time we were shopping and she told me I could buy this one transparent teal colored Strat "anytime you want to" because it was gorgeous. But I've already got a lot of Strats and I think I bought a sunburst Tele that day.
But yeah - I could dig a turqoise 660, with gold guards and TRC, and toasters. Now, would it be a 6 or a 12? Maybe I'd have to get both.
Oh yeah - regarding vintage knobs... What direction do they point (when turned full up) as they come from the factory? My v64 knob lines point straight up (12:00), but I bought it used and wonder if they've been removed and repositioned.

Hmmm....have to show these to my wife too. I had a similar experience as Steve. We were in a local Phoenix music store just about 2 years ago, just looking for some sheet music. I saw a brand new Gretsch White Falcon on display -- I'd never ever seen one up close. And while I'm a Gretsch fan, I'd never really wanted a Falcon. Well, it WAS pretty, but I didn't stand there pining over it.
So, we're looking at it, and turn around to leave, and my wife says, "Just a minute," and goes over to talk to a salesman standing nearby. He tells her it's on sale for $3200. She says thanks, and we leave.
Now we're driving home and she suddenly blurts out, "If you want to buy that white guitar, it's OK with me." I somehow managed NOT to steer into a light pole. Of course, I went back and bought it. Who am I to argue with her?
And yet we'll have Mexican Standoffs over a cheapie $79 Rogue bass. Melissa, if you're out there, PLEASE explain this to us poor stupid men. It would make our lives SO much simpler.
