I hate to say it the gold did the trick it looks amazing in person, well also alot of little detail work tuner bushings cut down, black nut, shortened trc, finger rest, high gain instead of horsey for playability...

Gold looks good.. but it's still a 'Fenderglo'. Sorry, Ken... it's still kinda ugly fer me. Image
But you like it now.. that's all that matters.

Gold guards rule! As for "Fenderglo"- that's the original
Ricky sunburst; to me any way.
Same color as my "58 330 that was the color basis for this:ImageImage

Ken, Until now I've never been a fan of the gold guards, but your V63 just changed my mind. I think it looks just great.

Know what you mean about the high gain instead of the horsey. Got the same 'problem' on my bass ,the one that isn't quite a V63 (-; I might change to a high gain or I may yet sell it.

John Fay,Please make me one of those, that is incredible!

Bob,remember at the end of the day you have to be able to play it,if the horsey gets in the way, replace it for now,but keep it safe.

And Bob I think were safe in saying its a one off or a prototype of the v63 prototypes

Ken - that looks really sharp! I'm a sucker for gold guards and TRC's. Is the TRC painted gold or is an actual RIC silkscreened gold TRC? If it's the latter, how did you obtain it?

That's so #%&^%#&%%# hot Ken!

Like mentioned above, I'm not usually a fan of gold pickguards but your color combo looks perfect.

I personally liked it how it was. I standard black guard would have looked great.
