It does look like two guitars glued together...it shows what happens when amateurs with no design sensitivity get hold of two nice guitars and have a bit too much herb...
But I guess if Fender can sell this and call it "MASTURBUILT", then why not?

Paul, in no way would I call that Rickenbacker doubleneck a professionally done job. I agree that the lower bodyline looks a bit off due to the mismatch if the bodies. However, for the person making such a guitar for himself/herself, I would consider it to be an O.K. amateur job.
The Fender looks like an instance of conjoined twins with one not being developed fully. Yeeeesh!

So there seems to be a differentiation happening here, am I right?

One done by a pro measuring a couple inches more, is not.
I firmly believe in the concept of Absolute Ugliness, although the degree of sickness inflicted upon the viewer may vary according to his (her) constitution, intestinal fortitude, and what they had for lunch.
Both of these things are Butt Ugly (#9 on my scale) to my eye.
Strangely, though I'm not familiar with the duct-taped one, it sounds honest to me. If you're going to Frankenstein a sow, don't candy (or JG or Sunburst) coat it.
Sorta like a Rat Rod.
The Fender is for sale at Dave's Guitars for about $10,600.00 which seems to be a magic number these days.

It would look nice if he built up the lower bout of the guitar to match the bass. If he doesn't mind the odd body shape he probably doesn't mind leaving it out in the snow.
