Does this seem bogus to you guys?

I never knew of Lennon using a VOX guitar.

Let's sell an oddball "celebrity" guitar with dubious provenance.

Price? Well, how about a cool half-mil?

Where to advertise?

Why, craigslist, of course! It's free!

Hee hee! Oh yeah, I remember seeing him play this on the Sullivan show back in '62. He was singing "Tutti-Fruitty" and standing on a surfboard. Later in '68, when The Beatles traveled to Maggie Valley, NC to study Transcendental Dentistry, he used it to record "Kentucky Rain". Oh yeah.

It's been pulled. What was it?

P.S. There are pics of Lennon using a Vox guitar for the Hello Goodbye video.

Slow Monday, hey Kenny?

I could find no enlightenment by Googling either the seller's name, which was given, or the name of his store.

In the ad, there was no mention of year of guitar or model.

However, since the posting number is above, an e-mail to anon(posting number)@craigslist.org will get you straight to the seller.

Kenny: If I recall correctly, one version of the 'Hello Goodbye' video was edited to show John playing an unusual Vox prototype guitar model (Kensington?) that never went into production.

Kenny: it was a Vox guitar, white, I don't know the model, but the asymetrical sahped hexagon one. I've seen Tom Petty in videos play it.

It definitely was not the one from the "hello goodbye" video shoot, that never went into production.

I've never seen any of them with this model.

It was just so wacky, especially being on Craigslist, that I had to post it!

John: You're describing a Vox Phantom guitar. I've seen the same video showing Tom Petty playing a stereo Phantom XII. Lots of British guitarists in the sixties played Phantoms including Pete Townshend (The Who), Tony Hicks (The Hollies) and Dave Davies (The Kinks).
