Premier Amps

I have a Premier Model 120 amplifier, which is best known for harmonica (harp) use. I have posted pictures on this forum before, but I am too lazy to look them up right now and I have deleted all my photos off of my computer. I'll try to take some more pics this weekend and post them.

The story of mine, which I'll try to make it short, is quite interesting. It has been named "The Tube Amp From Hell" by the technician who fixed it for me. I received it for free from a friend whom I work with a few years ago. Built sometime between late 1954 to early 1955, it has seen quite some useage. I have heard it has almost met the garbage dump a few times before I got it, and in fact that is where I got it: out of my friend's garbage. Well, I took it and had it sent out to a local guitar amp repairman. It was in his shop for just about a year. Working without a schematic, he was just about to give up on it. Somehow, he accidentally disconnected the tremolo circuit, and the thing came to life. That and a new power cord, which had a ground plug as well.

To this day, I still don't have the tremolo working, but I can always buy it in a form of a pedal and all I want this amp to do is amplify a guitar. And that's what I got, an amp that works well and my own vintage relic that didn't cost me much money. It was free for taking, and I dropped $165 to get it to working order minus tremolo. Oh yeah, I also spent a few bucks putting on speaker cloth that was missing (I used Fender brand black speaker cloth) and bought four new rubber feet at a hardware store to replace the worn out ones. Hey, it's doing the job!
