Even though I had nothing to do with the purchase of the 335F, I reckon I'm almost as excited as Darren. He rang me one night after he had contacted the seller and asked me what I thought - we ogled it over the .net in stereo!!

I can't believe the condition it's in - even though the pics aren't great, the Fireglo finish looks flawless and all the hardware looks nice and shiny with little or no pitting.

Darren: I have a contact in the cleaning goods business - need any mops, buckets, rubber gloves, detergents and wipers?

Seriously, though, I can also get you a good supply (hundreds of pairs if you're interested) of fine cotton gloves from a client in Dingley for when you want to handle the 335F (or indeed any of your other classics)!! Image

Darren: Congratulations on a truly spectacular guitar. God, it is beautiful. Please give us a report on the sound... I can't imagine it being anything short of brilliant.

We are all going to have to wait a little while before I can file a report on the sound of
the-guitar-now-known-as 'Fatboy'. It's still half a world away from me and it is likely to be weeks, maybe months, before I can finally get to hold and play the 335F. In the meantime we'll all just have to look at the photos! Thanks for your comments everyone.

Chris, I've only just returned from the East Coast of the US about eight weeks ago and Robyn and I visited NYC together in 2003. I'd like to tie in my trip back to the States with a Rickfest or Philly Guitar Show if possible. Robyn on the other hand is already one step ahead of me....she had a builder visit our house yesterday to discuss extensions....I knew there was a catch!

I'm prepared to wager that Robyn's not planning on extending the music room, Darren!! Image
