A 660 in Burgundy is one of my dream guitars.

He'll, i'd want anything in Burgundy. This needs to be a standard finish, IMO.

Nice collection Mike. I've seen Mikes 360SG & it's a real stunner.

I agree with you about burgundy John. It is a beautiful & striking colour....some thing regal about it.
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Do you think some models look especially great in certain colors? For example...

660 - Burgundyglo
360 - Mapleglo
325 - Jetglo

Wow--that's opinion and loaded at that.

I love my 660 in MB; seems a perfect match.

I agree on the 360-MG match.

My 325 is Autumnglo. But I guess that JG would be my second choice on that.

FG is great on 381s with that checkered binding.

4003s look great in aged FG and JG.

BB Comstocks flip me out.

Paul, you surprise me.... Have you forgotten?

TURQUOISE is the BEST on a 325! Image

Is there a finish that doesn't look good on a 660? If I had to pick a "worst" for the 660, i'd say probably Mid Blue.

I like JG on 350's and 325's, definitley.

FG on 381's is the way to go.

I really like all the 360's i've seen in Blue Boy, they also look great in JG.

330's look best in FG, IMO.

Congrats, Aitch! Enjoy! Image

But I think my TQ will be heartbroken if she finds out that the Curmudgeon now favors a jetglo over her ravishing beauty.... She understands about the Autumnglo, of course.... I think I will have to give her a good long session of Rickentherapy tomorrow! Image

Thanks, Melissa. I'm sure your lovely will get over it.... eventually!!

In current colours I basically agree with John except IMO the 381 looks great in Mapleglo also, as does the 360 in Mid Blue.

I'm very sorry, Melissa...I was NOT thinking clearly.

TURQ is still #1 on 325's in my book. My AG is #2 and the JG would be #3.

I think my memory is still punishing me for refinning mine in AG instead of TURQ...The pint of custom-mixed TURQ paint is still on my shelf, too!

Apologize to Ms. TURQ for me, won't you?

Now to sleep...

Wow, Mike, those are some beautiful Rics! I kind of like the Jetglo with black trim--it looks so sleek and dare I say sexy....

And I don't think I've ever seen any Ric with an f-hole in Midnight Blue.... The white one looks great also, but I've seen pictures of the way white can yellow, and then it's not quite so pretty....

It's okay Paul....I think my 325 will get over it! Image I still think you didn't go wrong doing yours up in Autumnglo....that one did seem to be begging for a transparent finish.
