"A Noble Instrument Must Be Nobly Regarded"
I'm not exactly a fan of Ed Roman's idea of what constitutes a good commercial website, mainly because it consisted of him ranting about what companies and what products suck, and then, in his "best of"-type lists, he always included several of his own brands of guitars and basses. Shameless and abrasive self-promotion is not exactly what I want to see . . . ever.

He probably had 7-10 Rick basses, same amount of 6 stringers. The store was extremely impressive from an inventory standpoint, but the assclowns he has working there make a trip into Guitar Center seem like heaven. They're more knowledgeable than the GC punks, but BUCKETS OF ATTITUDE. The fist guy I spoke to who looked like Vinnie Vincent's long lost sister was a real gem....once I got by him and talked to the "bass guy" who in all honesty was an OK fella, but you can't touch ANYTHING without supervision.
And it wasn't like I wanted to play Alembics, or 1960 stack knob Fender Jazz Basses. I wanted to play 2 mid-70's Gibson basses: a G3 and a RD Standard. Worth maybe $1200 put together & they hovered over me like I was fondling the Crown Jewels of England.
Impressive array of guitars, but my hard earned dollar will never be spent there.

I have never heard a positive report from anyone who has visited Ed's place. But he must be doing something right to have such a large place with so much inventory and so many employees. Do people really pony up the bucks after being treated with the level of contempt that seems to be business as usual? Is his primary business selling to the working musicians of Las Vegas? I am guessing that LV is second only to New Orleans for the number of full time working musicians.
