Head end string guide

Post by thx1955 »

I was fitting some new strings to my 4003 tonight and the ebony head end guide came away from the neck.
It looks like a clean parting and I was able to reseat it with a little super glue, after I restrung she sounded as good as ever, however, the question is, has anyone else ever experienced this.

I've had my 4003 new since 96 with nothinglike this ever happening.

Jim,
There was an earlier thread about a 4003 nut coming loose and needing reglued. It's under this category and subject:

Ask A Rickenbacker Luthier: Nut popped off my 4003

Peter gave some recommendations, so you probably should check it out.
