... I would try to play a new 4003 b4 I went and got one. The necks are pretty big from what I remember. I dont know. Ill try to go check out a couple more before I say to much more. But I still remember liking it. Just not as much as that 4001. I think if you get a 4003... youll still go after that 4001 half the time. But I dont know.

Im gonna keep my Edge 4 cause it was my 1st bass. Just a keep sake ya know? And probly the 5 string cause its one of only like 3 5 strings Iv played that I like. I dont plan on selling anything unless I need to cash for another bass or other reasons.

I would play any bass before I bought it, 4003 or no. I have not played a 4001, but my 4003 sounds and plays brilliantly, and it's no problem at all. The neck, in my opinion, is perfectly fine . . . it's not huge by any means, nor is it a stick. I can't venture which of the two models is better, but suffice to say I like mine. It's miles better than any other bass I've every played, except for a Pedulla Rapture 5-stringer, but it was a *completely* different kind of bass from the Ric, so they're not really comparable.

Well ordering online.. if I don't like it, I could always sell it for a ton down here anyway.

Ronn... Dude whats your problem with us? Okay here.. You can mark this down against my ego. Stoping being a Ahole just because we are 16 and can play everything you can. Envy can be just as bad as a ego. Besides you figure someone who is 43 would be mature enough not to fight with a couple of 16 year olds. But thats just my stand.

It's times like these I'm glad to be 45 years old. The most talented individuals, are also typically the most humble.

auditions ... first of all I am glad I don't look my age ... since I am over 50 ... I am a pretty good bass player ... I am not as good as Geddy but I am competent and sometimes flashy ...

When I go on an audition it plays out like this ... they are blown away with my equipment, tone and playing and want me in their band ... and I respectfully decline ... or they find out my age and won't audition me because they want somebody under 30 ... or they play lame originals and I decline the audition ... or they play death metal and I decline to audition ... or they want to tour and I don't want to quit my job and take a pay cut ... or once in a while it works out and I join ...
