Colour Question
Hi everyone .. I've had my Ricky (reg Oct 75) from new. Love it madly but I have never been able to put a name to the colour ! It has no yellow, is too light for Burgundy and according to the lists ..... Ruby was'nt introduced until the 80's ...............Aaaagh can anyone pls help?

Hi Jeff ..... no its translucent. Grain easily visible too. A guy from Rick head office reckons that 'ruby' is opaque and that 'burgundy glo' can greatly vary. Trouble is if I solve this colour question it means I've lost another excuse for checking out other Ricks in music shops

Burgundy was quite variable. Some were very deep, almost black, and some around here dubbed them "eggplantglo" for fun. They're actually quite attractive. Some burgundies are lighter, some very light. I'd place your 4000 in the middle somewhere. John Hall is right (of course) if it is overall red and you can see the wood grain, it's Burgundy (or Transparent Red on the Cheyenne II series).
