That didn't belong to Mr Squire did it? In the Going for the One tourbook he's got a 4001-8 with the same headstock. I thnik it was white with black binding.

Wow, that is some nice equipment.

The 4001-8 (?) as I recall was the 8 string solid body prototype, one of 2ea *The other one John Entwistle had, it was also White with black binding)

They were 1973 models, I think. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

John is actually playing the 8 string in one of the WHo movies (I think the 30 years of Maximum R&B2 hr movie) during warm ups of Who are You. He is playing Sister Disco on it.

They are very cool.

Dave is correct, and "Success Story" from "By Numbers" was recorded with the Ric 8-string.

Does anyone remember who was the first here to say the headstock looks like Mr. Potatohead? It happened many months back when Randy Decker was talking about Squire's 4001/8. I remember lauging my *** off when I read it.

Yeah, the Mr. Potatohead Headstock is now in the official Rickendom jargon file. It is what I thought of as well.
