Question for hipshot bridge owners

I have the feeling we'll either all adore the new bridge or despise it utterly. I'm rooting for the former.

Since the new bridge will replace the ABM bridge, then am I correct in that the mute assembly has been done away with?

If so, then the other Jeff (you know which one I'm refering to) will be REALLY happy!

Surely the body/neck are fake? Too wide of a skunk stripe, bound dotted fretboard, and no apparent routing for the stock tailpiece....

Chris Brubeck has a '68 (or so) with the same skunk stripe. It's authenticity is clear.

The fill-in around the bridge is maple and doesn't show in this pic. FB was fretless...some one did a so-so job fretting it. Oddly, JH thinks that the wings are not a kind of maple they ever used. It appears to have been built _near_ the same time as the ones with birch wings. Who knows. The internal routing matches that of the early 70's.

It does have some cosmetic features I like and that you could have done by any competent tech, like the bound headstock.

I kind of dropped off this board for a while. Where did the Archives go? I suppose Peter ran out of server space.
