They're coming to take me away.....!

Post by rick_ovic »

OK, this Rickenbacker thing is getting way too serious.

Last night my soon-to-be-six year old daughter sought my approval to purchase a black kitten she had seen. She has been hankering for a cat for about two years and I had earlier suggested she might be allowed to get a kitten for her birthday.

As she waited anxiously for me finish my deliberations, I looked into her big round eyes and told her that she could have the black kitten......but only if we could name it "Capri".

For those who haven't yet made the Rickenbacker connection...in the late 1950s the Capri model name originated from F.C Hall's family cat which was named 'Capri'.

So now my daughter gets the cat and I can get some twisted pleasure out of having another 'Capri' in the house!

They're coming to take me away....mmmwwwahahaha!Image

My eight year old daughter constantly refers to black as "Jetglo". A few weeks ago she showed me a cartoon of the Beatles that recently ran as political commentary in Brasil, and commented that John's 325 was "accurate, right down to the headstock".
“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

Good one, Darren... you have got it bad, haven't you?

I'm gonna get a cat and call it 360V64-12. The neighbours will reckon I'm bonkers when I call it in for it's tin of Kit-E-Kat!!

Ford said Jetglo. I'm sure it was jetglo...

I painted my house CS yellow.

F.C Hall's family cat which was named 'Capri'

Small point- it was my cat; my dad hated it. But he didn't hestitate to appropriate it's name! Of course, after the guitars were successful he liked it better and usually made the cat its own pancake on Sunday mornings.
