Let me throw my favor towards Fat Tire as well. First time I had it was in a bar in St. Louis. Of course that was followed by a couple of Irish car bombs. And it true that you can't get it west of the Mississippi. Hopefully what Ted said is true - it'll be available soon in IL.

What you should do if any of you were to visit Oz is to load up with as much Penfolds Grange as you can carry(or US customs will allow) and take it home. It could almost pay for the trip...

We've had Fat Tire here in Denver for years...beats the hell out of Coors, politically and taste-wise...

That was me who said Fat Tire would be available in Chicago for the new year, Jason.

Why do my posts always get credited to someone else?! I guess I'm just Mr. Cellophane!

I'm wondering if the availability of Fat Tire Ale in Chicago will be like Coors was around 20 years ago. Coors was a big deal here when it was unavailable. Then when it became available it quickly lost its mystique.

So Gerry and Howard...what I miss from your country is Tim Tams! I can get them on the 'net from aussieproducts.com. But its probably been over a year since I've had one. For those not in the know...the Tim Tam is probably as common a cookie in Oz as the Oreo is in the states. But they are not similar. Order a few boxes today! They will not disappoint!

I pretty much support the Anhueser-Busch family.

I enjoy a glass of wine though, generally white, a little on the "dry" side.

The difference is that Coors is not good beer but Fat Tire is. Coors is like Bud and Miller. Light, watery, and thin in taste. It is ok at a ballgame but not in my fridge.

When I was in Europe a few years back, I heard a kinda funny joke. It was poking fun at American beer. Sadly, everywhere I went, Bud was the ONLY American beer available. I think I may have seen Miller once or twice, but Bud was pretty much it for American beers, so its no wonder we are the butt of this joke. So here goes:

What do American beer and having sex in a rowboat have in common?

Mainstream American beers (i.e. Bud, Coors, et. al.) are just awful...

My current fave is Warsteiner!

Personally, I have been on a quest for the "Worst tasting, cheapest beer" I can find, and so far here are my candidates (note I am from New England, so there might possibly be other worse beers out there":

From worst to not as bad (All IMO of course)

1. Golden Anniversary, $3.25 per 6x16oz pack
2. Pabst Blue Ribbon, $3.49 per 6x16oz pack
3. Schlitz, $3.49 per 6x16oz pack
4. Old Milwaukee, $3.49 per 6x16oz pack
5. Milwaukee's Best, $3.49 per 6x16oz pack
6. Old Milwaukee Light, $3.49 per 6x16oz pack

But for good beer I prefer either Heineken or seasonal Sam Adams. YMMV.
