good call Ilan! hey Owen - yeah, it appears to be original - someone at the Dudepit has one too. Mine's a '68, and the pickguard is somewhat yellowed (can't tell in the picture probably because of the flourescent lighting) and the green looks like it was originally "pelham blue" (check out this '65 EB-3 for comparison). Someone suggested that the white pickguard was an attempt on Gibson's part to cash in on the Fender share of the market.
You can here it here on the track "over there" - the only bass on there is the Melody Maker, though it's overdubbed.

This is kind of goofy...the questions and, more importantly, choices of responses are extremely limiting. "Sometimes you feel like a nut...", etc. What if you really like Prog Rock and Funk? Is that not allowed? What if you can't decide between Chris Squire and Bootsy Collins??? This is why I own a 4001 and a P-bass.
As for 'myself', I'd have to say I'm a washtub with a broom handle and some twine.

I didn't get where I am today by being on time...

I'm a P-Bass. I made 10 attempts to adjust my answers in order to get the correct answer, but every time I came up P-Bass. Entwistle, Squire, McCartney...didn't matter. Chunky neck, thin neck broken headstocks or not....Rock, Brit Rock...Its no use.
And that's the kind of day I'm having. I just made a $3000.00 mistake at work. Boss man's gonna kick my A$$! Anybody wanna buy a Rick collection?!
