Refinish Help

Post by dswp »

I know I spend most of my time in the Bass section on this forum.

If anyone here has looked in the Tech section, I am restoring a 4080/12. I am at the point to apply the finish.

What does the forum think?

I have black pick guards.

I’m thinking Jetglo, would look great.

But so would a Monti Brown, or a Sea Green.
Should I keep it Mapleglo?

Help!!!!!!!!!!

Dave, If you're going through all this trouble to make the ultimate 4080 for yourself, don't let the color of the guards influence you. You can always have them made in a different color.

Marc, I thought that, however the one TRC has the "MODEL 4080" stamped on it. I gotta reinstall that.

FireGlo, Dave, FireGlo!!!!Add gold guards too.
It's gonna look awesome in any finish with that level of craftsmanship that's going into it.

White would be cool. Mike parks has had a 4080 in white with checker binding.

Well, in that case dave, since you don't already have a Jetglo, then Black on Black is whack...

I think that's pretty cool, Scott.

Get black on black.. since you're making a 12 string neck you could have a Geddy 4080/12!

I second the burgundy, or keep it MG. I think it should be a color that the 4080 was originally available with. Third would be AzureGlo, but with white guards. I don't really like the gold guards on anything, but that's because it doesn't come that way.
