They don't build bikes anyway, they just bolt stuff onto frames they buy. They don't even build their own engines nor do they do their own paint. Craftsmen they aren't.

PS: Is that show still on? I watched it a few times a year+ ago and was appalled at the attitudes and the workmanship.

No, Vinny's the Mexican fellow that was shaping the back of the necks in a picture that PW posted on the "NECKS" thread.

The guy in this picture is our resident luthier, Richard, and he has become quite skilled at carving (and repairing) the Lemmy basses.

That photo is quite recent, maybe the So. Cal. Confluence time. Anyway, he's working on the very last ones now and I understand that next week sometime will be the end of the era for Lemmy production.

Then he starts the task of fully ramping up the acoustic department.

Peter - I found that picture in an on-line album posted by forumite Eric Kutzler of a RIC factory tour that took place at the So-Cal confluence in September.

I don't think Rickenbacker's ever built a guitar that 'cornered' poorly...not to mention a decided eschewing of 'ape-hangers'...
