What's not right???

Take a look at my 72 pick guard I just received. Do you guys see anything incorrect?

The Pods are all "72". What about the pick guard, the caps and the wire?

All original?

Dave, first impressions are that it looks good; It's got an August '72 jackplate, so I'd think the pots would date earlier than that of course. All of the locations seem to be in the right place...Does something spook you about it?

cant see anything odd there. clearly a 72 pickguard, the pots look correct as are the caps and cloth wiring. ( ? )

The caps look incorrect for 72 they should be blue or yellow.

I think they vary quite a lot dont they Ken? especially around that time? my 73 had large orange tone caps and a small barrell yellow cap for the 0047

Nothing spooks me John. I just see a lot of variations. I'm never sure of the 72 / 73 time line.

yeah the bass i had from 73 was a mess off features in a way. i have no pics of it anymore

Im doing a course in guitar making and repair. If only i had kept the 73 i could have refretted it properly in my spare time , oh well, needing the cash for my burgundyglo

Hey Ken, im dont know how to refret well yet - it would been a nice way to learn tho. Im currently building a martin dreadnought style guitar - with maple back and sides
