Ive got a 66 RM1999 in the works .

It has stereo but two separate input jack plates one with serial# one without both the little chrome mono plates,
did the optional stereo of the 60s come this way? or was this added?

I think its an add on but I don't know?

I've just got a big nose that gets in the way of my eyes, I guess. Go for it but if you ever get bored with it, I'm willing to give it a good home.

Ken, I think that it would be added. It was late sixties for ROS on basses & then the large plate.

I thought someone said it was 64 & 67 for RMs - was there a 66 batch as well?
enough, already.

Well, don't forget Richard Smith based his figures on shipping invoices not serial numbers so your probably right Ken.

And Richard Smith may not have tabulated all of the invoices either.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Ken, can you post a pic of the double jack plates? From the description, I would think that one has been added. I'd remove both plates and hvae a look. If the second jack plate was added, it wouldn't stop me from getting this bass. :-)

I have yet to see a stock stereo before 70. I'd say it has been altered.
