Chicago/Milwaukee/Madison/Rockford confluence?

Post by bassduke49 »

I'm cross posting this in "general" and "guitars" so please excuse me. I'm looking at arranging a Rickenbacker Confluence for the Chicago/Milwaukee/Madison/Rockford area sometime perhaps in April and want to get a non-commital headcount on how many folks and instruments might attend. I'd look at a Friday evening through Saturday event, probably in a hotel meeting room as all the past confluences. Lake Geneva (Wisconsin, not the one in Switzerland) seems like a centralized locale and a great place to visit. I'm figuring on drawing mostly drive-to enthusiasts, figuring not many would want to fly with their Ricks (although Marc Seligman just might). So, no commitments, but pipe in if you think you might attend and how many instruments you might bring.

Possibly, somewhere from 1-6 instruments.

Hi Paul, I might schedule a vacation to Central Illinois around the same time and drive up for the Saturday; as it would be a driving vacation (probably), I would bring one or two of my babies with me (all that would fit comfortably in my Insight!), but I could also bring my niece's 330 JG LH and 450 MG, a total of four max.

My aunt lives in Wisconsin Dells and I had planned to drive up to her place in May. She has some furniture she wants to give me. Maybe I could move the trip up a month and if so, I'll bring 3 lefty Rics.

Since I'd be flying in, the most I can bring is two.I'll just point to Ted's and Jeff's and say they're mine too.

If I'm back from the UK confluence, which is April 2 (assuming I go), I'll probably be there with two or three, it just depends on the date.

We ought to give some thought to having another one when Howard Bishop is in town in late summer/early fall.

I'm all over a Midwestern Confluence, Paul. I'll probably bring around 10 Rick basses, (with a couple of those reserved for Marc to claim as his own! Image)

Wow...I'm impressed with how many people are considering coming in from a long distance!

Chicago is not that far from the D. 3 1/2, 4 hours maybe? And April is a good month, hopefully the thaw is starting around then.
