I've looked around town searching for a gigbag for my 4003 to no avail. The space for the headstock was just not wide enough for a RIC. I think they make the bags mostly for Fender types. (God Damn!)
What gigbags do you use for your 4001/4003 basses?
And where to buy?
Anyone with an answer?
Merry 'Xmas to all RIC lovers.

Yes I've got the original hardshell case.
I just like to have a gigbag to provide myself more options (depending on how light or how heavy my mood is in..............just kidding).
Actually, I prefer shouldering my bass in a gigbag when I travel on vacation instead of lugging around a big rectangular box along with my other luggages.
The advantages:
1.One can't steal but only "rob" my bass from me.
2.The custom officers are nicer when they see a guitar shaped bag than seeing a big rectangular box, especially after the godforbid 911 incident.
Peace,
Paul

I know this will make some ric purists quiver ... I use gig bags sometimes ... I own 10 basses of various types and I have a small car so gig bags fit in the car better ... I have found my rics fit in just about any gig bag designed for bass guitar ... If you are going to use a soft case try this one ...

this is a soft version of the coffin case and provides a reasonable amount of protection
