Searchers' Christmas Recordings?

Post by admin »

Most all Beatles' fans are aware of the Christmas recodings sent out to fans. Did the Searchers ever record, or consider, a Christmas bit for fans? Tim?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

As far as I know Peter answer is no, but Tim may know more.

The Searchers did record two christmas type songs God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and Happiest Christmas of all(band composition0 which initially surfaced on a german cd Tomas Christmas Party. The tracks later appeared on Live 1 (best part of CD in my view)

God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman is also a favourite of mine.In my opinion it is worthy of being a perrenial Christmas standard on any radio play list.I hope they know where to look for the track.

There were no Christmas songs in the PYE archives when we were compiling the 30th Anniversary Collection. If we'd found any, rest assured they would have been on the album. There may, however, have been Christmas songs recorded for radio transmission. Does anyone have any recollections?
The Searchers are the best!
