Bias modulated tremolo

Post by jps »

Can a Princeton Reverb with output tube bias modulated tremolo be converted to cathode bias and still retain the way the tremolo works?

I think it would still work, but the trem function wouldn't work as well as with fixed bias. You wouldn't have as much depth as before the change. Thats off the top of my head though. Would have to study the circuit a bit to see.

Thanks! I was thinking that too, as I have a feeling the tremolo circuit and the cathode bias scheme would be fighting one another.
