Today is really a sad day . . .

Post by bobcat »

This is a self-pitying post. Today is a sad day because the 1980 mapleglo 4001S that was on the GoodGuys Guitars webpage is not up anymore, meaning it has probably been sold. Curse my lack of funds for not allowing me to buy it when I had the chance!

The exact same thing happened with a mapleglo 4001S on BassPalace.com, and two others on eBay, both in very good condition. ARGH!!!

Yeah, Jacob, you hit the nail on the head.

I'm sure I'll find a better one for a better price. It's just, you know, you see it and you go "OH MY GOD I WANNA BUY IT RIGHT NOW I WILL NEVER NEED ANOTHER BASS EVER IN MY LIFE IF I HAVE THAT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!" And then your wallet slaps you in the face with those two words: college loans. Oh well. When I have some spare cash, I'll go searching for one.

You know, I feel that way about a certain auction....
After all, it's only wood and metal- Right?

We must remember what the news anchor from Willy
Wonka said after announcing the finding of the final ticket-
We now can get back to the more important things....
Offhand I can't remember what they are.....

Buwahahaha...like that ever happens?

I got my Laredo last March, my youngest asks, "is this the last bass you're getting for a long time?"

"Yep" I replied...

Now I want a P Bass and a mapleglo 4003 if the new ones have walnut headstock wings... Image

Even more true. But at the time, that's EXACTLY what we all think.

Yeah, as I was reading this topic again, I realized that there are several "NOT ONE MORE" basses . . . Alembic Exploiter (passive, not active), Pedulla MVP-4, the new Steinberger Q bass with DB-tuner, mapleglo 4001S, Gibson SG Bass Reissue, one of those Shergold basses that Mike Rutherford used . . . yeah right . . . like I'd never want another one after I got one . . .

I played an old Shergold in a local shop, last year!

It was a Modulator 4, going for £1000... sounded great, looked horrible.

But they're built for their sound I guess.

I really like how they look . . . though I must say that one looks like it's got enough pole pieces for 12 strings . . . they certainly look better than Burns Guitars, which are supposedly carrying on their legacy or whatever.
