I just got a "Second Chance" offer from someone claiming to be the seller...

Funny how that works
Buy it before someone else does

"Brian's all ****** off now! "

.....no I'm not.....I bailed on the auction early since my new JG 4004 Laredo is on it's way along with the black hardware. It will be a 4004L/Faux-Shadow until I get the neck refinished then it will be my 4004L/Pseudo-Blackstar..

Congrats Jeff......nice score and it looks to be well worth the $$$$$.

There were 200 Blackstars and 120 Tuxedos made.......40-60 Shadows depending on who you ask.

That is the theory anyway. The frequency of Shadow auctions on Ebay seems to suggest there are significantly more of them than that. I could be wrong but they seem to pop up a lot these days. There are 200 Blackstars but only 5 or 6 have appeared on Ebay in the last year. In that time there have been a dozen or so Shadows. We see a new Shadow about once a month. Sometimes more often. Chris Pappas has been keeping track of serial numbers as best he can. I think he has 21 or 22 accounted for that have moved in and out of the forum. I don't think he was able to get the SN's of all of the Ebay Shadows so the actual Shadow count is larger than that. Oh yeah, JH has one too.

Shadows have binding Blackstars don't. Blackstars have painted maple fingerboard with very tiny marker dots (the same size as side markers). Shadows have rosewood fingerboards with black markers. The Blackstar also has a special TRC. The painted letters are pearly silver. Very pretty.

The Tuxedo is identical to the Blackstar and Redneck but white with black marker dots.
