From the two confluences that I went to I can say that rare isn't necessarily an issue. Some of the Rics I was most impressed with were the "common" ones with extraordinary setups. Paul Boyer's 4004L FG, Jeff Scott's 4001V63 and Kenn Pierog's 4003 DG are some of my favorites. Of course I was also quite taken by Ken's '72 4001, Chris' 4002 and Ken's 4001V63 FenderBurst but the setups on those were what drew me to them more than any rarity.
The best part of the whole experience is meeting fellow Forumites. The 6 hour drive to Virginia in early November was well worth it.

That's why I think we need a North Eastern Regional Confluence. There's a few folks from Jersey I know can make it, along with a few from a bit upstate and some regulars, can make it an interesting affair.
I would book it sooner rather than later, but have concerns that last minute snow can hurt attendance.
