370/12's have shipped!!

Post by jwargowski »

It may be a very merry Christmas after all ... it appears that some 370/12's have shipped. Hopefully my MB from North Coast is among them. Gotta love the Rick website!

Anyone else expecting?

Oooops ... guess I need to curb my enthusiasm ... further clicking revealed my particular model wasn't shipped. And I was so close! At least it appears that they are in the pipeline ... so that's good news! Always the optimist when waiting for a new Rick!

Ah ha! Now, it has shipped. Gary at North Coast is hoping he can have it to me around Christmas! A shame it has to go from Santa Ana to Milwaukee and back to LA. Guess it's taking a little winter holiday trip. Hopefully the cold weather won't effect it too much. Pictures will be posted!

It appears the Rick factory had a very busy couple of months - looks like there's a whole lot of guitars shipping lately.

Much thanks to John, Ben and all the rest - Happy Holidays!

It looks like the 370/12FG that I ordered on 12/21/2004 is on its way to Chicago!

That's great!

Hopefully you don't live in Miami...

Here are some shots of my new 370/12 MB VP that I purchased from North Coast - very much worth the wait.

Jim:

Great pics, except:

What's up with the lower guard?

I'm guessing that perhaps shipping the pick guard from the chilly midwest to toasty (at the time) southern California caused the paint to check a little.

I actually didn't notice it until I took the pictures - it's not readily apparent in person, and only at specific angles.

I'm sure Tony would send a replacement if it ends up bugging me too much. I think he does great work, and I really like this one.

Didn't mean to be hypercritical, Jim...didn't know that these were Tony's guards...he does superb work usually. Gold guards look super with MB.

Here's an observation: MB was COY in both 2003 and 2004, yet I'm reasonably sure that yours has an '05 serial number showing it as having been produced in November '05. I'm guessing that all the MBs are completed by now, but it is possible that there might be some MBs with an '06 number. I also would guess, in light of the backlog, that there are no '03 MB Rickenbackers out there, except for NAMM guitars. Am I correct?

Very, very nice, Jim. Monty Brown is a great finish, IMO. Congrats!
