I'll just be happy when my C64FG comes! I'm starting to get impatient. I want to use it on our New Years Eve gig, along side my 4003 and V63!!!
I recently went back to playing a Rickenbacker bass. Its like meeting an old friend again

I'll be using my V63 and 4003FL along with the Rick Turner, unless of course Chris Pappas and his wife come to the gig, then I will be using my new (you didn't know about this Chris!) 4002. Image

Congrats Andy!

I'll second your review. Yesterday, I was VERY happy to pick up my LEFTY C64. Built in Sept 05.

Love the fireglo shading. After opening the case in the store, I turned around to find MANY observers OOOOing and AAAAHing...lol.

Can't wait to get my C64S Lefty MG now! Image

Thanks for all the comments everyone---I'm really enjoying this bass. What a player it is.

The last one I played (upside down) was one belonging to Dave Pascoe, I found the sound of it to be very smooth, very even...no matter what the pickup selection was. Great bass.

Mine arrived last night, but it's a bit cold here in Virginia and I had a guitar lesson anyway, so I left it at the store overnight to get acclimated. I'm picking it up after work tonight, stringing it with TI Jazz Flats and then ignoring the family for a few hours while I give it thorough workout. Pictures at 11.

Congrats Andrew, I know you have been waiting a long time for that.
Enjoy!
Buy it before someone else does.

Thanks a lot, Bob. The time went by pretty fast, surprisingly. It is one awesome bass, and every bit worth the wait!

Ron,
Great to hear yours is in. I'm interested in hearing your opiniions. Post pics when you can.

I like the neck! It's nice and slim. I already restrung it with TI Jazz Flats since I'm not too wild about the stock Ric strings. The toaster pickup is quite mellow while the horseshoe has a nice bite to it. I'll post pics of it and its sibling, the Jetglo C64S, tomorrow.

How do those strings sound? I've never played them before. But I've considered trying them, but haven't yet.
