Simon: "A winter's day in a deep and dark December - i am alone, gazing from my window to the streets below etc" - is that what you mean? If it is, i join in of course, albeit my favorite lines from this one is "I have no need of friendship, friendship causes pain" & "Hidin' in my room, safe within my room, i touch noone and noone touches me" (albeit to be true i disagree with both statements

I like your citation Simon but a line later in that tune has made me shudder more than once when I stop to think of the presidents you've had..."even the president of the United States sometimes must have to stand naked." Take your pick from when the words were written (ca. 1965?)...shudder (though Jimmy Carter was pretty buff)....ugh.....
