Oh yes...its definitely a severe case of SDDS, Henny. The poor guy. If its not attended to soon, it could fester...and flare up into a full-on infatuation with all things "fancy."

For some one that has a 66 4001s ,a v63 ,a CS two Deluxe 4001's a 69,70 and two 4005's I can honestly say I love them all.

I also have the luxery of not having to choose between them ,I would probably go with the S if I did.

I like both designs myself... if presented with (for example) a V63 and a V68, and having to pick one... my head would explode.
What do you mean the Bass is too loud???

Well...to each his own John. I guess having the right to be individuals makes this world a more interesting place.

I wonder if we could get Paul W to re-fin your '72 to match your new outfit above? Would you prefer yellow with green pickguard and TRC or green with yellow pickguard and TRC?
