Now, I'm not sure about this cork business, but I am always game for opening up another box of wine.Image

If it don't have a cork (or one of the modern equivalents) in it, I don't drink it. Mind you, it's a long time since I drank some box (cask in Oz) wine. I'm sceptical because cask wine was always pretty ****** and full of preservatives.

They did a test a few months back where they got a bunch of wine "experts" to try different wines - some with corks, some with srewtops etc.

They actually couldn't tell the difference, mind you they were probably hammered by that time and ordering take out pizza and doner kebabs

Aitch, I don't know about there, but in the USA it's advertisement slogan is: "Fosters. it's Australian for beer."

And... it's actually imported from Canada! I was reading the can one day!

Fosters is made in China too but only Grandma Foster in Australia knows the recipe. When she dies they'll all have to go thirsty...

Hahaha! Most of the export is to the UK - it's brewed under licence in many countries.

Exactly the same as Guinness (brewed in Queensland) and Stella Artois (brewed in Melbourne).

I have to say that top tipple just now is Paul Masson Californian Red. it has a full flavour at 12.5% yet is not "chewing the carpet" material. I'm will willing to elaborate on "chewing the carpet" for the uninitiated
