Anyone happen to know the fingerings for the chords of the bridge in DADGAD?

I do something like this:

Dm - 0 0 3 2 0 0
G - 0 2 0 0 2 0
Em7 - ? (I just play a G instead)
A7 - 2 4 5 2 4 2 (There has to be an easier way!)

Thanks, and for those who haven't tried playing it in DADGAD give it a shot, it sounds great!

Yes, but there is a capo at the 2nd fret.

Yeah, I knew about the capo

But yeah, the proper chords would be great

, that A7 doesn't sound too good in my opinion.

The primary riff is finger picked off D, using the G, D and A strings, and then to (chorus, I guess) Dm, G, Dm, Em, A.

As such

Dm
She asked to me stay and she told me to sit
G
anywhere
Dm
So I looked around and I noticed there wasn't a
Em A
chair

Give that a whirl.

Ronn, do you play the subtle backgound accents as well as the sitar riff?

Good thread BTW - I was wondering why I couldn't get the right guitar sound in normal tuning, and this thread explains that!

Thanks for asking that, Ron. I'm not satisfied with using standard EADGBE tuning on my JJ Electric Sitar.

I use E-E, and yes, I do the stuff during the verses too. Drone strings are D-D. I play with my fingers, I found that works best for me even tho' I use a pick exclusively on bass and guitar.

Ronn...how do you like your electric sitar? I used to have an original 60's Coral...bought it from Manny's in NYC in the early '80's for about $450...sold it about ten years ago for $700, and the guy who bought it turned it around almost immediately for twice that. I always loved the sounds I could make with it, but it certainly wasn't very playable...frets like railroad ties, and tough to tune. I'm presuming they've fixed some of those problems with the reissue...

Oh yeah, one more thing...yours must be a lefty...normally available that way, or did you have to special order it? Your collection is most impressive to begin with...the fact that it's all lefty makes it amazing...

I like mine a lot, and should probably play it more. I bought it(it being a Jerry Jones Master Sitar)to use in The Eggmen obviously, but I have played it on a couple tunes with the original-music band I was in up till a few months ago. One of those tunes was used in an episode of "Veronica Mars".

yes... capo'd so the D becomes an E. Silly me, for years and years I played it in a non-capo'd E form. It sounds better the proper way.

I remember reading some quotes of George where he mused about the almost infinite riffs that were available around that simple D chord.

Patrick: Rather than DADGAD, try tuning both E strings to D. Then you can play the riff of the guitar much more easily and still have the open drone as well.
