Egad, this is truly horrible...and at 18", he's much bigger than my Jesus action figure.

Wanna get even? Let's take a photo of John 'en flagrante' with Barbie and e-mail it to Yoko...

Naw, let's issue poseable "Two Virgins" cover figures--uncovered.

John may look bad on that cover, but Yoko?

EEEEeeeeeeewwwwwwww.....

Yoko must be going blind from selling all that Lennon bling bling memorabilia. This hardly looks like him at all. Very distorted features and elongated legs.

It's interesting that they would choose to create an action figure representing his least active years. I can only 'Imagine' him around the Dakota sleeping till noon, smoking lots of cigarettes, watching TV, and ignoring Yoko's incessant chatter. What would John think about this...

That was a 1974 pose. John was with May Pang. At that time and was at a creative high. It's a good thing they didn't do a 1980 sculpt.

Paul: I was just trying to be funny. Honestly, I think John looked about the same from 1972 till 1976. I was watching the 'Imagine' DVD the other day, and May Pang gets very defensive about the so-called 'Lost Weekend' that John spent with her. She points out that he made 'Mind Games', 'Rock'n'Roll' and 'Walls And Bridges' during that time period, so it wasn't all about too many brandy alexanders and getting tossed out of nightclubs. Still, that time period didn't produce my favorite Lennon tracks.

There isn't much more solo time to choose from...

Paul: If it matters, my favorite Lennon albums were 'Plastic ono Band' and 'Imagine'.

My favorite has always been Plastic Ono Band. In my opinion, Imagine lags behind his first outing, and suffers from an awful production and is now pretty dated sounding as a result. A solo Lennon album which I have always loved, believe it or not, is Sometime in NYC. The album has some great variety and includes some of the harder rocking songs of his solo career.

Double Fantasy was the first Beatle-y Lennon of his solo career. He finally got back to crafting his music from the ground up, and putting great thought into his production, harmonies, middle eights/bridges, etc. A remarkable set of Lennon songs are on that album---song for song, and not including Yoko's, it could be his strongest solo effort. Four songs on DF are massive efforts, to say the least: (Just Like) Starting Over, Beautiful Boy, Woman and Watching the Wheels. Throughout the R&R era, that is a monumental achievement and happens with great infrequence. His other songs, I'm Losing You, Dear Yoko & Cleanup Time are all great efforts, too, and feature a high degree of craftsmanship in all aspects of production.

They are great albums but no number one hits unfortunately. Funny that Plastic Ono is one of yer faves considering he says "I don't believe in Zimmerman."
