I picked it up this evening and checked it out. It's in much better shape than was described to me. The only serious issues are a paint chip and a ding on the headstock. I may talk to a luthier about touching them up. It came set up with GHS Boomers, which aren't one of my favorite strings.

I took it to band practice tonight and it was well-received. It was bit warmer-sounding than I expected and I suspect it was due to the strings. Both pickups are quite hot! I had to back my gain down quite a bit to keep the signal clean. It nonetheless delivered the goods when needed and everyone was happy, even the one guitarist who's not a Ric fan. He played it and realized why I liked Rickenbackers so much. He just cooed over the neck and fingerboard comfort.

My next step is to find reputable luthier to fix the two marks and I'm going to restring it sometime over the weekend.

This has been an awesome week for you, Ron. My CS is number 430, so they are practically brothers! Mine has some small paint chips around the horseshoe, but I'm not gonna worry about them. I got mine three years ago, paid $1995 for it and thought that was outrageous. Enjoy your two new additions, and I'm sorry that I missed you on Tuesday night when you picked up your c64.
