Thanks, all!

Dean, I'm considering that.... I have to choose carefully what I will submit for the calendar, as we are only allowed to send 10 photos each....

Hey Melissa, you were talking about being in So. Wisconsin after Christmas. Give me a buzz on my cell on the 27th and maybe we can meet up: 414 - 531 - 7026.

Sure Paul.... I'll try! I don't know how many activities the "out-laws" will have planned for us when we are down there, but would certainly enjoy some kind of mini-Rickenconfluence if I am able....will anyone else be able to make it between the 27th and 29th?

Just caught the lovely Fireglo Christmas setting, Melissa. That is beautiful!! Image

Hmmm.... must put up my tree.... I get a little uninspired without my kids around.

It's been Hell getting into it this year, being the first after losing my mother... but I think it's starting to happen. Having a 3- and 1-yr. old definitely helps!

So, finally, Merry X-mas to all the new friends I've met in my first year here... many more to come!

Sincerest regrets of your loss, Bob. I know how you feel I lost mine a couple of years ago. Kids do help. I'm just trying to get as many of my three here, they're kind of scattered across the planet.

Yes, Bob. My condolences also. I lost my mum on New Years day this year, so this will be my first Christmas without her.

Bob and Howard, my sympathies to both of you.... it has got to be hard to celebrate when you are missing the ones you love the most....

Just remember to pass their legacy of love on to the next generation....and know that your friends are there to help you on the way.

Either live with the living or walk with the dead.

I'll take choice #1, and pass the cranberry sauce.

Maybe it's the Hinduism I've been studying...maybe something else...but I believe it's possible to do both, Bob.

Best wishes to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere at Winter Solstice...the Sun starts 'coming back' tomorrow. For you folks South of the Equator: don't forget the sunscreen.

And to the musicians at McMurdo Station: schedule some extra rehearsals...only eleven practice days 'til Icestock...

The boundary can be transcended... but you can't let yourself forget which side you belong on.

Either way, my 3-year old has been asking every half-hour if it's Christmas yet...

There you go, Bob...like my construction worker buddies say, "Still above the ground..."

When you really have that feeling of being on your particular path (and facing the right direction...), it IS Christmas every half-hour...
