Gary: I misspoke, the quake that moved the river was only a mag 8 (only!). There is merely evidence in the area of quakes in the mag 9 range.

Just a couple of replies here: (Jwilli)- That's YOUR 425 that Leftybass posted a pic of?!?
(Peter) Mr. Admin. - great info. It filled in a lot of the gaps in my quest for 425 knowledge!
(8mileshigh)- I checked out Rics R Us. Nice stuff, there. I don't think I can go that long without food or utilities to get the 425 that they had. (one of these days I'll get one!!)

I bought a 1962 425 a few years ago and it's the coolest little guitar. Mine is pretty beat so I intended to refinish it in black but never had the heart to remove the original fireglo. The sound is very unique and after playing the intro to I Want To Hold Your Hand through a Vox AC30, I'm convinced that George used his to record the song. All live recordings of IWTHYH are on the Gent but when you play it on a 425 you instantly hear the sound on With The Beatles.

What Rick is George playing here?:
http://www.youtube.com/?v=pSwTkYuzZ54
"George Harrison Tribute"...about 3/4 toward the end is a shot of someone, (George?) in a denim jacket playing a two pickup 425(?) model...black. It's definately not the same 425 George had back in the 60's...the one in this video has the neck pickup much closer to the neck, and there's a different bridge. It's a color video, too...def. not "ready steady go" footage.

That was a '58-'59 Combo 450.
