Joey....the fretboard is finished. I'm just going to have Dale strip it, paint it JG and partially mask the markers to give it the Blackstar pin-dot effect.
Paul....I wanted it and would have left it FireGlo but since I got my JG I'm no longer in need. That is a great playing Laredo that you should hang on to anyway. If POTR had a FG when I bought mine I would have had a tough decision.
Thomas.....POTR has 4 or 5 in stock right now. I'd highly recommend picking one up.

Maple also...this one has the "intermediate" PU spacing...all in all the PU's are a little closer to the bridge. Mine is probably a little brighter than Brian's and Pauls.
I love it. Very easy to play, a nice sound. Last couple of days I've had it and my 1975 4001 out side by side, and although the strings on the 4001 are far fresher, the unamplified sound out of the Laredo seems a little more "focused"...not that I can really describe what I mean.

Above e-mail is inactive. try ed_ardzinski@**** where **** is Hotmail.com or Yahoo.com. I tend to see things inthe hotmail box quicker...

Brian, If it was me, and you are spending the money to ship it to Dale, why not replace the entire finger board with ebony (like the "Blackstar"). I bet you that it wouldn't cost that much more.

Not sure about the fretboard wood on Blackstars but, from what I have gathered, they are the standard fretboard painted in JetGlo.
Besides, even if they were ebony I'm obviously not going for a Blackstar clone, just following the theme. Getting my fretboard refinished is less intrusive, and I'd guess, a significantly cheaper alternative than replacing it.

Those are some sweet Laredos, guys.
Brian- I really like your JG. Great move with the BT. I'm not usually a fan of BT, but on a JG it looks killer. And as for your fretboard...I know how it is when you get an idea in your head that you're determined to see through...but FWIW I think its pretty darned cool the way it is.

Thanks for clearing that up, Ted. I wish I had spent more time with your Blackstar. Maybe sometime in the near future.
Someday, I'm gonna be on vacation...walking down the street in some quaint town somewhere, casually window shopping...and I'm gonna stumble across one of those. Its gonna be NOS and have a price tag of $800.
But my wife will be with me. And she's gonna get all red-faced about how we're late for our scuba diving appointment and insist that we get it on the way back. On our way back, it will be gone.
Damn, that woman!
DAMN!!
