My Christmas Present

Post by wmthor »

Yesterday, I received a "Gift Certificate" from the family in order to have my left-handed 1997 refinished.

I'm thinking of the Autumnglow, like Dale Fortune used on his granddaughter's neck through.

Nice microphone Aitch. Congrats on the present.

What is the frequency range of that little guy? Did it come with a shock mount and a pop filter?

They unfortunately got their signals mixed up in Oz. I understand that Aitch's mike came with a shock absorber for an A40 "ute" and a tin of Orville Redenbacher's popcorn...

Aitch, you want FG on that mike, bring it with you next year and we'll see what we can do!

The last shock mount I got was back in 1999..... oops!

30 - 20,000Hz Brian. I have a pop filter in my car stereo - technically it's call a 'Kylie Minogue block'!

Here's what Juliana got from Santa:

A custom-painted (by anonymous elves in the North Pole's heated spray booth) pearlescent pink Squier mini!

She's playing "Silent Night" in the photo.

Rickentable in the background.

That Microphone should be great for voice and acoustic instruments Aitch. I am off tomorrow to pick up another SM58 so I can direct two microphones to my amp speaker in the configuration suggested by Anthony. One on the perimeter of the speaker cone and the other directed straight at the voice coil.

I am working on another song that I want to get recorded this winter. This one will be real simple. Drums, bass and bluesy guitar parts that are a combination of rhythm and lead. I am looking for a particular recorded sound. I won't settle for anything less. I plan to keep experimenting until I achieve it.

Great photo Paul. There is nothing as nice as mastering the E chord and experiencing that full sound for the first time.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm
