for 2006 I think I will try to stay away from buying Rics ... I currently own 7 five string Ric basses ... I am currently building a jazz bass and after that I have a p-bass project that will be a p-bass with Ric pickups and 5 strings ... then I want to build a 5 string reverse tbird with a p-bass neck and then after that I want to customize a iceman into a 3 pickup 5 string bass with 3 ric pickups ... kind of like a lemmy bass ... and I will probably do s few 4-2-5 Ric conversions for a few people ...

"...and a BF Fender Vibroluxe Reverb..."
Steve, my local GC has one that sounds great, but I don't think it has JBLs in it.
Brian,
I tried out a few small amps last September. My suggestion is to get the Workingman's 10 instead of the LA 10, a lot more amp for very little more money. The Mayfield Hts. GC has them for $249.

A 4003 4-2-5.
A Geddy Lee Jazz.
My 4001 converted into a Geddy Tribute. Specs from 1977.
A Warmoth/allparts P bass made to look like Steve Harris' refinished West Ham bass. White body with black binding, maple fretboard. Depending on if the allparts necks have the Fender logo on them.
New Behringer Amp/cabnet. (Local shop in NY has em for sale and my dad loves em. Said I should get one.)
Sure, that's a lot, but if I can get a job I'll be able to afford some of that.

Nate, I don't suppose you're a Lemmy fan?
Take it from me, jobs really help when you're trying to acquire equipment...
They also serve a secondary purpose of paying the rent, buying food, and maybe putting some gas into the beast.

What would make you think I'm a Lemmy fan? I like him, just not that familiar.
Well I'm moving to my grandmothers place, so I have another year of mooching to do. Any money I get will go towards new gear. I might think of a couple others. I think the "Fenders" would be the things that tach me how to put a bass together and set it up. Some skills I need to learn.

Mark...I have already spoken to Mike about the 370BG. All depends on the neck (as I'm rather particular about necks). I had a 360BG & didn't like the neck at all, but the neck on my 350V63BG is the best I've ever played...we'll see. Mike also has a 360V64FG coming in that I want to try as well....he gets some really great gtrs.
Chris...good call on the Gibson basses. I only own Rics, but if I was going to stray, one of those basses would be at the very top of my list!

'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

I'm going to be good this year. I think I'll just finish out the "C" Series, if that is possible in 2006. I may look for a couple of old "V" series guitars as well.
