That's not Mike but it's a forumite... I just can't recall who's behind the "toto_too" eBay handle.

He did not win but Mike was the high bidder shortly before the auction ended.

Nope I didn't get it and I have all of the parts to fix her. I did get one of those fine evilbay second chance notices though. I figured a little paint and a couple of parts and it would be a nice bass again but somebody wanted it more than I. No biggie, I have too many projects as it is...

Mike,

I should speak up here.

I won the auction, but my bid was placed hastily. I was watching it and just as I was leaving last night to go out I received an e-mail telling me it was closing shortly. I stupidly did not re-read the description (I think I assumed it was OK since I was watching it??), but instead placed a low e-snipe bid and took off figuring if I got a clean tux for $1400 that would be OK.

This morning I was surprised I won. It was only then that I revisited the description to find out its true condition. Dumb me. I e-mailed the seller and told them it looks like I'll be getting my first negative feedback as I would not be buying it considering the condition. I explained what happened and accepted full responsibility. I'll see what happens. It would certainly not be unreasonable to ding me on it as I'm not following through, but perhaps they will understand. I have over 200 perfect transactions so I'm not too worried about what it will do to my rating, but I feel pretty silly.

Anyway, the short of it is that I'm not buying it so it is available. IF you want it I suspect the store selling it would welcome a call from you. Their number is on the auction page.

Best luck,

TS

That could be the reason for the second-chance offer. Mike, if you still have the e-mail, check the full headers to see whether it actually originated from eBay and not some IP address in Croatia ...

I suspect that second chance offer was not valid. What NYC store would be open for business on New Year's Day? Also, I have not yet heard from them.

Hey Tim! Sorry to hear about your ebay goof. If its any consolation....I'd still do business with you!

Glad to see that you're considering getting back into the Rickenfold.

I saw your blue leather tele-bass auction. I thought it sold kinda cheap.

Happy New Year,

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Yeah, I'm eyeing the Rics again. I'm mainly using my Modulus TBX these days so I probably shouldn't be, but I'm fickle.

I would have like the leather tele to go for more too, but it was time to sell. Not a great time to sell it (right before X-mas), but I'm OK with what I got.\

Good to hear from you.
