Frets on a 360-12.
I have finally purchased what I think is a late 1990s Rick 360-12. IT IS PERfect in every way except there is some fret wear and gouging of frets. Is there anything I can do about this, Fret leveling, new fret job, etc.
Also, How do I determine date of mfg for this guitar. There seem to be no numbers or serial codes anywhere. Please help.

Fret wear can be varying degrees...chances are that if it's enough to notice, it could use a refret.
There's a guy in NY who does them for $43.30...

No, Mark, you're right...A refret with new neck varnish of the proper type should touch $400...
Perhaps Rob F. will enlighten us in the days to come.

Every beginning painter I knew had one of two nicknames:
1. Earl.
or,
2. Runs.
A buddy back in the late '90s inherited a nice old, low-mileage Buick Skylark convertible from his Mom who passed on. THe paint on the hood and trunk were sunburnt (So Cal) but original. Knowing nothing about car painting (he's an illustrator), he took it to Earl in Costa Mesa, and told them to repaint it in the original Baby Blue.
So they did: Badges, windshield wipers, turn signal lenses, and the stainless steel windshield frame, too.
He had tears in his eyes when he picked it up. Then he hid it from his wife and asked me what to do.
I said, "repaint it."
