My official COY guess

Post by bassduke49 »

As John Hall indicated there would not be a "new color of the year per se," my guess is that one of the trans colors (or maybe all) that were limited to the Cheyenne will become available across the model lines. That's my guess. I correctly predicted Blueburst last year, so let's see if I get it right again.

I like Paul's guess. It seems a likely choice in that they already know how to apply it. Nothing would be left to work out. There was some discussion of a pre-yellowed CV that was applied to some guitars that went to a Japanese show. I suspected that to be a COY candidate but Paul's idea is better.

I don't recall anyone predicting what the COY was last year.
Someone said that possibly trans green would be discontinued after NAMM.

Paul - that was my guess for 2005. I thing you're right - again!

At the very least I think BBR gets extended in to 2006 - then maybe we'll all get to order a Cii 5 in BBR

Andy....I checked with Mike Parks about the unsold one he has ordered....he replied that Ric wasn't going to make them and the window for ordering bbr's has passed... so he thinks they cii/5's are a moot point.....

Several months ago I had inquired about that unsold BBR Cii5, Mike Parks told me that all the orders for the Cii5 were cancelled.
Maybe we'll get a nice surprise in 2006 that the Cii5 will be back in production again.

Yeah I know Chris Image But one can hope!

Don't know what my '06 purchase will be yet - other than that Blackstar I have everyone looking for, for me...Imageor maybe a transgreen 4003 - I really hoped for that this year, uh last year - you know what I mean.

So if RIC does a 75th thing on the guitars will it be for those that ship in '06, or those that are ordered in '06, or both?

...I was wondering the same thing, Andy.

JH has stated that BBR WILL NOT be carried over into '06, so if you wanted to order one, the cutoff was 12/21/05.

The COY (per se) for '06 will be ordered in '06 (obviously, ordered in Jan. 06 forward) and delivered anywhere from '06 to '08....they are still delivering Montys and Blue Boys, and some of those were probably ordered in '04.

Wait, I thought it had been stated that there would NOT be a color of the year for 2006.
