I just had a frightening thought.(Thanks Dave) What would happen if McCartney's Hofner and Squire's 4001 hit ebay at the same time? World war, Armageddon, mass suicides?

It's unbelievable that these two giants have owned and played these basses for over 40 years.

I'm thinking the Rick just might pull more. If someone could tell me how much for the set, I'll get a part time job at 7/11 and start saving.

Jeffrey, can I have some of your medicine?

Hmmm, I would bet Paul's Hofner would fetch more.
Just because it's Paul's.
There was a 51 Telecaster that sold on Ebay the other week for $45,000 so I'm guess the set would sell for $80,000 maybe.
You better get you application into 7/11 today!

Hi Bob, if the set were only $80,000, I'd "hit" a bunch of 7/11's tonight. I 'm thinking the 4001 may be more alluring as I believe Squire is known more for his sound and playing as a bass player. It seems McCartney is perhaps more famous as a Beatle/songwriter/musician/bass player.

I'd trade my house for the Rick. The Hofner, the car and motorcycle. (It's a Harley)

I agree with Dave but shipping and insurance is extra. And like it or not the Hof would go for more IMO. It’s probably the most recognized instrument in modern music – iconic I believe it’s been referred as. Just think of all the historical appearances it’s made and songs it’s been played on…

Yea, you may be right Andy. My view is colored by the fact that I'm thinking I'd buy the one I could play out with. It's a great plan. I'll buy a million dollar bass and make $100 a night playing CCR's "Rolling On The River" at the local dung heap. That short scale Hofner might hold me back from the big money.

If they were the same price, I'd have to take the 4001.
