Bob, I was thinking of your beautiful Jazz whenever the term "amber FG" popped up...

Jim's photos do not come up on my browser...

I hate to be a turd in the punch bowl,
but as beautiful as the amber FG is, it's
been done. Either by accident or design....

I still think it's great and look forward to
seeing one in person, but I'm a little let down
after the spectacular last two COYs.

Well we know what AFG stands for, but what about AMG? Aged Mapleglo?

It would have been amber mapleglo, but as John mentioned earlier in this thread, it's since been abandoned because it didn't stand out like the AFG does. I think it's the right decision. Mapleglo is pretty special as it is.

Jeepers what were the chances of guessing that one right? I wonder if I will be sent a new Ric because I guessed it correctly. Probably not. But I can dream.

That is a great colour. I hope you keep it as the standard for FG.

FG has been quite erratic recently...pinkish, orangeish & it has certainly prevented me from buying sight unseen. But the photo on the Ric website looks like this new FG is absolutely superb & I can't wait to see one in the flesh.

If it's already aged though, what's going to happen when it ages?
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

That's a very good point Tony. I bought a MB 330 from some of the last (darker colour/yellower varnish) stock and the colour is already beautifully aged. I keep that one in the box away from the sun, but the slightly pinker 360 stays out to improve the overall tone.

Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

I can't post the link because it's Flash, but check out the options/colours section on the Ric site and call up the 330 in the new colour - nice. Similar to what some people here have called pumpkin burst.

This is the Model 360 with the amber finish from the RIC Site. An absolutely gorgeous finish that I suspect, will continue to improve with age.
