Two of George's guitars have been auctioned recently. The Let It Be rosewood Telecaster went for $440,000, and the Revolver SG went for $560,000. These were two guitars that Harrison had given away around the time of the breakup.
Somewhere I have the auction result sheet from the Telecaster. I'll post if I can find it.

In my opinion, if the Hofner went to auction, it could very well fetch a multi-million dollar price, maybe 8-10 million. Incidentally, in 1998, around the time that Mandolin Bros. did some repair work, it was insured for 2 million pounds. The insurance company wouldn't insure it until repairs were made, so he had the work done, chartering a plane for $45,000 to fly it to New York. See an article containing the information here:

The wife #2 scenario could be correct, but it assumes that he doesn't will it to one of his kids.

Kevin, I agree. If one of the kids get the Hofner I think it will stay in the family.

McCartney's Hofner is practically priceless I would think. I also don't think millions would be out of the realm of possibility for that bass.
