Perhaps the new model is simply the 1996 reissues announced last November in Yokohama ( http://www.netlaputa.ne.jp/~with/1104ric325c64fgfh.jpg ). As Ben Hall wrote at the time:
The fireglos were sprayed according to an original 1996 we have in the showroom and have amber tint in the clear coats to give them a true vintage look.
He actually told us what the COY was going to be!

Does anyone know how to search archive postings for the first mention of the term "V68". I recall discussing this back a while ago, perhaps even a year or two ago when discussing potential reissues, and I recall (in my mind) at that time coming up with the idea of the v68 model and there being some favorable discussion about it as an alternative to bringing back the V63. The reason I ask is that I proposed a reissue of all our favorite features and how they really were much like a 68-69 model similar to one I owned, and that V68 had a nice ring to it. Maybe it's been discussed forever and I came up with an obvious desireable choice on my own. If I could find that I did first propose this by name on this forum (even if we all dreamed of one privately), I would be honored to be known as the father of the V68 and that our discussion on this forum really does influence potential product offerings from RIC. Don't throw things, I'm just really curious and interested in owning something like this and thinking I may have had a hand in its inception. For me a 4003 V68 in AFG would be a lifetime buy, and my first "new" Rick bass.
No matter where you go - there you are.

Hey Wes...weren't you the father of the internet too?
*This is only a joke. I mean no harm, Wes. I have only good intentions and am trying to get a chuckle out of you, as well as others here on the forum. I am sorry for trying to have a laugh at your expense. I need to stop making jokes at other people's expense. He who lives in a glass house shouldn't throw stones(or something like that). Please do not come to my home and bludgeon me with one of my Ricks.
