I bet when I had it in a curve at up around 35mph, it was almost as terrifying and exhilarating as Road Atlanta, Randy...

Sheena, don't worry about your green fixation...I'm Irish, so I have to deal with it a lot on an ancestral level...the only people more into 'green' than the Irish would appear to be the Jamaicans...

...looks like some Ukrainian-Russians too, Dane... i have several swamp-green jeans, green t-shirts & sweaters, green caps, green Martens etc (no drug references, eh)... and had a nickname of "GreenMama" once... 8-)

I never paid much attention to green on a guitar until I saw a Cadillac Green Gretsch. A 6128 Elliot Easton model to be specific. The gold hardware looks amazing against the green. I was looking for a full hollowbody at the time and ended purchasing a 6120 SSU with a nice tiger maple flame (in orange).

Someday when my Les Paul Deluxe is too heavy for me to play (13lbs!) I'll go after the 6128. Of course Elliot has recently ended his affiliation with Gretsch, so once again I'll be looking for a needle in a haystack.

Green Martens, eh? Are we talking about British shoes, or those little furry animals halfway between a mink and a weasel? (that 'no drug references' line went right over my head...)

You'll think I'm makin' it up, but my 'call-sign' on the Navy 'Industrial' radio net was "Purple Haze"...

Okay, then... Ukrainian-Russian-Lithuanian-Polish-Mordovian... with some bits of others... a bit of German blood too perhaps... 8-) oh yeah, and my dad was born in China, so i'm 10% Chinese as well... 8-)
Yes, i'm referring to shoes... but both me & my daughter still have a dream about getting a green rat somewhere... 8-)

My buddy Mike had a Gretsch, I think he said it was a Thinline or something like that. Not a fancy model, but really good condition, transparent burgundy & chrome hardware with a Bigsby. Early '70's possibly. I don't know a thing about Gretsch, obviously!
Very nice, & sounded awesome, except for the feedback problem whenever I hit a low E note.
Incredible surf sound!
Plus five minus five!

Hmmm.Surf on a Gretsch.

The '70s Gretsches are not well-received; being from the Baldwin era (and a bad time in general for USA guitar makers.

Baldwin did all sorts of messing around, even restyling the guitars in a budget way to try to make them "hip", and ended up making them ugly.

Baldwin knobs and pickguards are awful-looking, and Gretsch did well to retrieve their old styles and reproportion the guitars to the old look.

Now you come to mention it Randy, the suspension does look a little down on the drivers side!!! And don't be telling us that it's because you were fleeing round the corner and lifting the other wheels!!!

Peter: Believe what you want to believe. I actually was cornering pretty hard considering how wet the track was. It doesn't look like it's raining in that other shot, but here's what it looked like a few laps later. Those tires were lifting. Mr. Curmudgeon, please forgive this foray into motorsport!
